It’s time to publish my Monthly update report to my readers as the new month already started. I’m still very busy with my day-job and my online-business, but still keep an eye on my investments. That’s the reason why I didn’t published any posts last month here on my-dividends.com! Here we go with my monthly report!
That was long time ago I had published my last post on my-dividends.com. There were different issues with my WordPress Installation and hacking, so I have to update my complete projects – one of them was My-Dividends.com. Also my days are full of hard working, but now I’ve found some time to update my blog. Here we go!
Kinder Morgan (KMI) declares a quarterly dividend of $0.48 per share. Its a 6,7% increase from prior dividend of $0.45 per share.
I hold “only” 5 shares, but it will be additional $0,60 to my annual income. Based on a 3,5% yield I would need to invest further $17.00.
My recent purchase is Philip Morris (PM).
Philip Morris is one of the biggest producers and seller of tobacco products. They are operating outside of United States. The most-known tobacco brand named Marlboro is owned by Philip Morris.
When I started to get in touch with finance and stock markets I was also in touch with different finance products. I tried to buy stocks, sell them on higher stock price with profit. I tried to trade forex and options. I was frustrated because I lost some of my capital. I didn’t have the knowledge to trade on profitable basis. If you are trading forex you’ll also be in touch with trading on margin and other functions – I would call it “freaky” stuff for no professional traders. Its freaky because you are trading with more capital as you’ll have invested. Currently I’m using the dividend growth strategy as I’m sure its the right one to become financially independent. All the money I’ll save will be added to my portfolio to invest in great companies which are paying dividend and will grow them from year to year.
I just read an article about an german guy losing 250k € in few minutes. I asked myself how is it possible? What did he wrong? In this german article you can read that this guy was not investing, he was trading. He was trading in forex and lost 250k €.
Investing into companies which are paying dividends to their shareholders can be a good thing. Passive income by investing is my goal to become financially independent. The idea of not working but have an income is awesome. There are many reasons why somebody is looking for passive income. Some people want to have an extra income to their upcoming pension, some other people want to cover their expenses and some of them want more. That’s why people are interesting in words coming from Warren Buffett. He’s an idol for everyone. Being one of the richest people worldwide, no worries about the future but also a big responsibility. Nobody would say “No” to be the richest of the world.
Another month has passed by and I was able to increase my monthly budget up to $500. Already transferred the amount of $500 to my broker account. In total I was saving $1150 since I started to invest into dividend stocks. I’ve started to save on January 2015 and did my first investment on March 2015.
I already mentioned in my article “Why I chose dividend strategy as the right for me“ why I’m using the dividend strategy. I see my goal to become financially independent as a project. A project of my life! On the one side I could use my current income to live my life. Doing all the great things and buying a lot of stuff, travelling and driving a big car. But if I live my life yet, my retirement will be less comfortable. Because I will be needful for income but the pension income will be less than my income yet. My life later will go down, it will become very hard to live. At the moment I will retire in 37 years. What’s the other side? I could live now a little bit frugal, saving my money, don’t buy stuff I don’t really need, to resign some unneeded things. I will retire earlier, living free of work for somebody who’s is earning more as I do. I’m kind of a slave, but it will be changed at that time I will be free. Now I’m building up my freedom.
It’s always interesting which companies are going ex-dividend. Ex-dividend date is important to be paid with dividend as shareholder. You need to hold the shares before ex-dividend date.
